Lizzie Scott, CaringStay

Business overview

We are a network of private homes that offer a place for individuals in need of respite -- a new company with a mission to offer comfort and care to individuals who do not want to cope alone, for various reasons. Our guests might have recently left the hospital and need support before their follow-up appointments, or they may feel weak and vulnerable with limited social networks. Our Hosts are the home owners who are gaining a new revenue stream

Products and services I offer

We offer home owners are chance to earn more money from their homes, and we offer accommodation and attention for those in need of a break, respite.
We do not offer medical care, but humanistic care and attention.

Why I'm in the Venus Network

I want to increase my circle of friends and associates, so that I can give as much as I can as well as receiving support and advice.
Women supporting women is key to so much in our lives, and in my new business.

My point of difference

This is a new, unique business. Currently, respite is offered in institutions or clinics, not in someone else's home. The model is adaptable: the home-owners might be prepared to be on-site for most of the day, paying attention to the guest.
Other hosts might need to go to work, but their guests will be the ones who are pretty self sufficient, and just need a couple of days staying with someone who can provide food and a good bed.
