Paula Moneypenny, Paula Moneypenny Counsellor

Business overview

I am a trained counsellor - MNZAC, MCOUNS(Hons)and Narrative Therapist and Professional Supervisor. At present, I work in full-time private practice providing counselling as well as professional supervision services to counsellors and other health practitioners including pyschologists, occupational therapists, social workers and nurses. I also provide to Abacus (supplying supervision to ACC Recovery Partners, Kainga Ora, and Worksafe). I provide EAP services to Benestar, Instep, Clearhead, Ministry of Justice, Victim Support and Vitae.
I specialize in trauma treatment (PTSD and Complex PTSD).
I am also an educator and group facilitator as I am a registered, experienced secondary school teacher (I have a Graduate Diploma of Teaching, and a Master of Arts (First Class Hons.) from the University of Waikato.

I am a Fulbright scholar and agree with Senator Fulbright when he says that we must work “to bring a little more knowledge, a little more reason, and a little more compassion into world affairs and thereby to increase the chance that nations will learn at last to live in peace and friendship.” My work as a counselor and supervisor is, therefore, predicated on the principles of friendship, peace, compassion, collaboration and social justice. Through my work I aim to promote peace and mutual understanding between people.
