So it’s mid October and school holidays are over again. I swear this year is on ‘fast forward’! I have just got back from a week in Noumea sailing, snorkelling, sleeping and lying on the beach were also on the menu – oh and my French has improved markedly – mostly used for ordering food and wine so don’t ask me to have a full on conversation! Was nice to completely get away from everything. It’s amazing how having a break brings me back to Venus with even more energy and enthusiasm – looking after yourself feels great!
So what have I been up to?
Finalising the magazine, it has been a lot of fun and a really good learning curve for me as well. Have had a lot of help from others who are more experienced than me and I’m quite proud of the result. I’ve also been looking at doing some PR moving forward for Venus to 2018 and have organised for a few more videos to be done to promote both networking and the Academy.
I’ve also had offers from two of the magazine contributors of prizes for competitions, one being an iPad and the other some chocolate goodies so keep your eyes peeled – you’ve got to be in to win!
Venus Training Academy
Programmes and workshops have run in in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch with a lot of positive feedback. We’re still working on the timetable for 2018 and will have that done by mid November. Perhaps a good idea if you want to find a little more out would be to book a RAVE with one of the Venus Training Academy Coaches? These women have a good handle on what they are delivering via the Academy and will be able to give you a little more one on one information. Remember the Venus Training Academy is there to run group training in an environment that sees you alongside other women who are looking for the same learning and advice. It’s very much about the learning alongside like-minded women in a supportive environment.
Venus Networking
Member Success and Power Hour workshops continue to run nationwide – if you haven’t got along to one of these free workshops make a point of getting to one. Power Hour gives everyone a wee taste of the Academy and the content of these will be changing as the workshops and programmes roll out.
Venus Networking will also be running Summer School over the Xmas break; this is free for all members and a bonus to your membership. A lot of groups seem to get together during and after the Xmas break and work through these modules as a separate project so that might be something you want to do with your group; alternatively, you could find an ‘accountability buddy’ and work through it together?
Additionally, our informal gatherings, the Venus Meetup, seem to be taking off. These are informal ways for women in each region to catch up and get to know one another in an informal setting over a glass of wine (and how hard is that to do!?
Venus Magazine
Distribution is underway. Magazines are being sent to the facilitation teams for handing out to members at meetings – so don’t miss your meeting! One copy is available to each member of each group. We will also be giving them to our venue’s, contributors and using them as a tool to promote Venus as a business to the wider business community.
Thank you once again to all our contributors and advertisers. Our next magazine is due out in April and we already have articles and advertisements for that magazine so will be redoing the press pack for the April magazine and publishing that to you all and via the website sooner rather than later. If you’re interested, please let us know sooner rather than later – unfortunately, we couldn’t fit everyone into this magazine, so we want to make sure you don’t miss out in April.
Free Month
Remember for each person you refer to Venus you get one month free membership when they’ve joined and paid their membership fee. Simply get them to register on line or put them in touch with your Regional Manager. Who do you know that would either benefit from being part of Venus or add value to this beautiful community – pick up the phone, drop them an email!
How to ‘step up’ your Networking
With the festive season fast approaching now is a great time to get extra ‘bang for your buck’ when it comes to networking – go to your group lunch, the regional Xmas party and anything else that is on. You’re building and cementing those relationships you already have. Make sure you start 2018 with a plan in mind for your networking – the beginnings of these clever plans this can often be born over a drink at a social occasion, you know when you can relax and have a good chat!
